Finding the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer is high season in the Pamlico area area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Pamlico area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Moonlight Suite 198* has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
