Finding the best New Bern vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in New Bern. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Pamlico area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Sunshine Manor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
