How to find the best New Bern rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Pamlico area area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Pamlico area vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Pamlico area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Pamlico area rental home:
- To start, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Downtown Blue Manor 1 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Pamlico area attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
