New Bern rental home tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Pamlico area area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Pamlico area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Pamlico area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking the best Pamlico area rental:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Grey Goose (Waterfront) Historic New Bern - Private Beach - BRING YOUR BOAT! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
