Tips to get the very best Pamlico area vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Pamlico area area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in New Bern. To book the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Pamlico area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Pamlico area rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Spotless, comfortable and safe. Great location with excellent kitchen + backyard has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
