Sunflower Smile is a private lot in a wooded area with a big beautiful field in front of it. It is conveniently located 4 miles from the Havelock Walmart and the Cherry Point back gate. It is about 30-40 mins. from Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach. The aquarium is fun to visit, historic downtown New Bern, Tryon Palace, and the gorgeous riverfront. Please send us a message about your sweet fur infant - breed and picture. We do work with military and workers in the area needing a longer stay. ????

Tricks and tips for getting the best New Bern vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Pamlico area area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental home in the Pamlico area area:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sunflower Smile has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
