The home contains two sizable bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and new King beds with new beds. One King bed can be converted to two Twin XLs upon request. The home
is freshly refreshed with fresh paint, new furnishings, luxury linens and amenities and a new gas range in the well-appointed kitchen.
Walk to the riverfront, Tryon Palace and historic downtown and its many eateries, bars, stores, and galleries. Unwind on the screen porch. Cruise or kayak the Neuse and Trent Rivers. Take a short 45-min. drive to Beaufort, Oriental, and the striking Crystal Coast beaches.
Sorry, but no kids under 8 years of age. Infants are welcome but we do not provide cribs or playards.
PLEASE NOTE: The home is located on a raised basement with 12 steps from the street level to the front door. All bedrooms are on the second floor.

Getting the best rental experience:
When to book a Pamlico area rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Pamlico area area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Circa 1810 Home - Downtown New Bern Historic District - 2 BRs with King Beds has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
