Gorgeous 3 bedroom, open floor plan, waterfront home in a peaceful gated community.
You can swim in the outdoor and indoor pools at our neighborhood recreation center, and savor cycling, kayaking, and fishing, all without leaving the neighborhood. You may also golf (and dine) at the 18-hole neighborhood golf course (green costs apply, see https://www.harbourpointegolfclub.com).
Downtown New Bern is about 6 miles from our home neighborhood, where you may tour Tryon Palace and other historical sites, shop the many stores (and an old-fashioned hardware store) and dine in the cozy downtown.
Atlantic Beach is less than an hour away.
The home has multiple living areas. First, there's a enormous living room with cathedral ceilings and comfortable couches where you can chat or watch TV. This room connects to a dining room, which is set up to seat 6 (an additional table leaf and chairs are available for a couple more.
Next is a sunroom with two couches and a wrap-around view of the waterfront (our favorite hangout in cold or wet weather).
Finally, there's a huge covered screened porch to appreciate the water view and the breezes. This porch has lounge seating for 6-7 people, as well as a tall glass-top dining table with bar-height chairs that seats 4.
There are 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and an en-suite bath with shower. It includes a walk-in closet, a desk and chair, and a chaise lounge. Sliding glass doors open onto the screened porch, which overlooks the water.
The second bedroom has a queen bed and a nice view of the water, and the third bedroom has a full sized bed and a twin bed. The latter two rooms share a full bathroom, with shower/tub.
All linens are supplied.

Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Pamlico area area. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Waterfront Home in New Bern Gated Community has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
