Finding the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer is high season in New Bern. Book your Pamlico area rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best vacation rental in New Bern:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Pamlico area beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
