Come relax at one of the most special condos in New Bern. This 2 BR/ 2 BA unit has balconies facing the marina that are prime for calming. The side balcony that faces the fishing pier and kayak launch is a great spot to savor morning coffee.

Just 20 mins. from the airport and downtown New Bern, this sailboat and golf community is a jewel. We are a short 1 hr 15 mins from Atlantic Beach and the NC Aquarium. The striking town of Oriental is only 40 mins away.

The space
We created this space to be a calming hideaway. It is the kind of place where you will adore doing tons of interesting things or just doing nothing. Read a book in the balcony breezes, swim at the pool, walk around historic downtown New Bern, fish, golf, or stay in and work from "home." Everything is better here!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire condo. They also have access to the Rec Center amenities and need to call them directly to schedule. Access may be limited due to Covid. Community activities include putt putt, tennis, basketball, golf, swimming, gym, kayak & bicycle rental plus great running trails.

Other things to note
There is a modest boat ramp, kayak launch space and fishing pier next to our building. Kayaks, fishing poles and canoes can be rented from Stillwater Kayaks (a 5 min walk).

About New Bern, North Carolina:
New Bern, North Carolina, is a historic riverfront city located where the Neuse and Trent Rivers meet. Known for its beautiful downtown, rich history, and breathtaking beauty, New Bern offers a enchanting blend of Southern hospitality and cultural attractions. Founded in 1710, New Bern is the second oldest town in North Carolina and is filled with elegantly preserved homes, gardens, and landmarks that reflect its colonial and antebellum past.

Things to Do Around Town:
Exploring New Bern's Historic District is a must, where you can walk through streets lined with historic homes, visit the Tryon Palace, and discover the stories of the city's past. Tryon Palace, a reconstructed colonial governor's mansion, offers guided tours, interactive exhibits, and impressive gardens. Nearby, the North Carolina History Center provides a deeper look into the state's past through innovative exhibits and engaging programs.

Downtown New Bern is bustling with boutique stores, art galleries, and a variety of dining options that cater to every taste. The waterfront offers striking vistas, ideal for a leisurely walk or a boat tour on the rivers. New Bern is also a cultural hub, hosting various festivals and events throughout the year, including the fashionable MumFest in the fall. Whether you're interested in history, outdoor activities, or simply enjoying the appealing ambiance of a coastal Carolina town, New Bern offers something for everybody.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in New Bern. Book your Pamlico area rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Pamlico area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your Pamlico area rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. The Sandpiper has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Pamlico area attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
