Our top Pamlico area rental home booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Pamlico area area. Reserve your Pamlico area vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
